Pastor’s Resignation

On January 26, 2012, Pastor Linda Nou tendered her letter of resignation to Council; this letter was presented to the congregation of St. Mark at both services on Sunday, January 29, 2012.

St. Mark’s Executive Committee (Kate Delozier, James Reddick, and Cathy Chapman) has met with Pastor Linda and staff members Kerstin Shaffer and Pam Buckner to discuss not only the ongoing worship, but the “behind the scenes” needs of the congregation while we wait for God to answer our call for a new pastor.

A farewell party will be held for Pastor Linda on Sunday, February 19, following the 11:00 service; watch for details over the next couple of weeks.

Should you have questions or concerns during this transition time, feel free to contact any of the following Council members to discuss: Cathy Chapman, Kate Delozier, Dave Eilers, Wade Maxey, Vicki Powers, James Reddick, or Joshua Sneva.

– Kate Delozier, Council President

January 26, 2012Dear Church Council and Brothers and Sisters of St. Mark Lutheran Church,From the day I arrived among you eighteen months ago, I have been working myself out of a job. That’s the nature of interim ministry. The time has now come that I resign my call as interim pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church effective March 31, 2012. My last day in the office will be on February 19, 2012 after which I will use up my accrued leave time.

It is with deep sadness that I leave my ministry among you. I have enjoyed our worship together, our work, our fellowship, and our friendship. You are an amazingly gifted group of people and I will miss you.

Thank you for opening your hearts to me and allowing me the privilege of sharing in your joys, sorrows and all that life has brought us in these days. I will forever hold you in my heart.

May you continue to be blessed to be a blessing, as you journey on into God’s future.

With much love in Jesus,

Pastor Linda Nou

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, thankful for your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

– Philippians 1:3-6
