“Something is coming and it is big!”

The beginning of the Gospel of Mark is the beginning of the good news. John the Baptist the truth-teller, says “Something is coming and it is big”! Throughout the chapter, the theme is…Jesus is always ahead of us, and God will be waiting. God’s grace is waiting, regardless. It is available to everyone, especially if you are hurting, because “brokenness is the wound through which God can penetrate us”.

As the Gospel of Mark ends, and the tomb is found empty, once again someone says, “Jesus has gone ahead”. And because he was resurrected, the Kingdom of God awaits us all.

Pastor Eric reminds us that this story is not over. It is our story and it is not over. Jesus is always ahead of us. And God will be waiting. “That’s the beginning of good news!”
