Confirmation Sunday

On this Day of Pentecost, we celebrated Confirmation Sunday at our 11:00 service.  As we give thanks for the gift of the Holy Spirit, we also give thanks for the gifts of faith and baptism. After instruction about faith, God, Jesus, the Bible, and the church, three 8th graders — Isaiah U., Kaitlyn B., and Samantha B. — affirmed their faith.  These students along with Zach C., Lisha M., and Hunter W., wrote the following class creed:

We believe God is

almighty, creative, merciful, loving, and forgiving.

God created the earth and all living things, like–

trees, people, bugs, turtles, sloths, penguins, ducks, pigs, and elephants.

God created the whole universe.

We believe Jesus is God’s son.

Jesus was courageous and stood up for what he believed.

He healed people, did miracles, told parables, and taught us to be kind.

Jesus died on the cross for us and was resurrected.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the presence of God with us.

We are the church.  We are the people of God

who are called to live good lives

and teach others about God’s word. Amen.

Congratulations and may God continue to bless each of you on your faith journey!
