Long-time congregation member, Trudy H wrote a song which has been incorporated into our St. Mark baptismal services called “A New Kid in Our Family”. On Sunday, June 19, we sang the song once again as we welcomed Michael K into our St. Mark family.
Pastor Beth reminded us that in the waters of Holy Baptism, we celebrate the gift of God’s grace. We celebrate that God loves us and is always with us. The congregation responded by welcoming Michael into God’s family and received him as a partner in the gospel. “You are a loved child of God”.
Michael’s brothers all participated, dressed identical to Michael, in his honor we’re sure! Michael is the son of Andrew and Karena K, and grandson of Bob and Carolyn P.
So as each of us remember our own baptism, let us also pray for young Michael in his faith journey. “There’s a new kid in our family, we’ve loved him from the start…”
