Thursday Church – One Family, Two Meals

Thursday Church officially began at St. Mark on January 22, 2015 at 6:00 pm. We meet every Thursday in the Parish Hall, beginning with soup and bread (provided). The service lasts about an hour, and includes prayer, communion, and hearing and engaging the Word of God. The style is:

Informal – Come as you are. All are welcome to God’s Grace and Table.

Interactive – Eating dinner together with the possibility of deep spiritual discussions.

Engaging – There is ample time to discuss and creatively interact what we have heard from the Bible readings and the sermon/reflection. The intent is for all present to add to our discussion/activity as we learn from what is presented, and from each other. There is also faith takeaways, things to work on during the week to guide, challenge, and expand your spiritual capabilities/gifts/growth.

Family Friendly – St. Mark values this image of family as central to what it means to be God’s gathered children in this particular location in Lacey. We have all family members, especially children, involved in all we do as we gather together. We have a dedicated children’s service every 4-6 weeks where our younger members provide the leadership/guidance as we gather together, worship and explore God’s Word.

If you are unable to worship on Sunday, or even if you can, come and check this service out. Our slogan for this midweek service is: Give God an hour on Thursday, and your weekends are free!
