Furnishing quilts is another way St. Mark can wrap those in need in warmth and love. Pastor Beth blesses the quilts during worship service, as each quilt is touched by our congregation members. The blessing reminds us all that we are not alone, even in difficult times.

During worship, Pastor Beth asked God to bless the shawl makers, and all who received comfort and peace from them. At Children’s Time, she explained to the kids that the shawls on the pews were made by a special group to give to those who are feeling sad, lonely or scared.

Praying Hands Ministry began over 16 years ago; 20 women have been involved. As the women are creating each shawl, they pray that it will bring comfort to whomever it is given. Shawls are given to members of the congregation or their family members who are going through difficult times. Prayer Shawls have also been mailed to family members in 10 different states who are in need of a gesture of warmth and love.

Praying Hands did not let the pandemic stop them! They continued their craft at home, and deliveries were made to porches or safe pick-up locations.

A Special Thanks is extended to those faithful members of Praying Hands who have knitted or crocheted over all these years, and others who have donated yarn or money for this important ministry.
