Rally Sunday and ELCA anniversary = BIG Food Bank gift

On Sunday, September 8th, St. Mark  celebrated Rally Day and the 25th Anniversary of the ELCA with a food drive for the Thurston County Food Bank (TCFB).  Food was processed in during worship and a “noisy” (and not so noisy!) offering taken.

Cases  of  food were brought by church members.  The food was initially gathered at the altar, and at the end of the second service, the food was brought out and loaded into a horse trailer.  It was then taken to the TCFB to be unloaded and weighed.

The results are in!
Over 3,000 pounds of food valued at $5740.59
$912.50 in financial gifts

TOTAL value= $6653.09

From Pastor Beth:   “Thanks be to God!!  Thank you, people of St. Mark, for your generosity.   Even more importantly, the people of St. Mark give thanks  for the faithful work of the Thurston County Food Bank and that those who are hungry in our community have a place to get food.  Thank you! ”

God’s work. Our Hands.
