“Painkillers & Gummi Bears” – a Discussion on Suffering and Grace

St. Mark member Gail F has written a book and wants to share the strong message of God’s presence in times of personal struggle. The story is a “haunting and inspirational memoir” that describes Gail’s younger son Christopher’s “medical hell” of needing a heart transplant at age 15, and then cancer that took his life at age 22.

Today’s “sermon” was actually an interview by Pastor Eric with Gail, her older son Jeff and retired Pastor David N, who was the family’s and St. Mark’s pastor during this time. Click on the link below to hear them share memories of Christopher, and answers to tough questions like, “How does a mother deal with all this?”, “What did you hear during the middle of your suffering that helped?”, “How is death sacred?”
