“Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.”
– Martin Luther –

The Last Supper, the First Communion. On Maundy Thursday, Jesus gathered with his disciples for what would be his last meal with them before his death. But this meal marked the start of a new supper, the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion. As we partake of this holy meal on Maundy Thursday, April 5 at 7:00pm we will ‘taste and see’ that our sins have gone and our new life has come! Pastor Paul Lundborg will be leading this worship service as we remember the Love poured out to us in communion, confession and grace.

On the cross, Jesus did it, “It is finished!” he says, and bows his head in death. God’s plan of salvation is complete. Jesus had taken on human flesh, and then died a death that we should have died. We will come together to worship on Good Friday, April 6 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. Join us as we hear the last words of Jesus upon the cross, extinguish candles, sing, pray for the life of the world, and ponder the message of the cross.

And the story doesn’t end there. Christ’s body is raised up on Easter morning. The angels announce, “He is not here! He is risen, just as he said.” As we go from Good Friday to Easter morning, let us look back on what Christ accomplished by his life, and look forward with hope to our own new life in grace. So Easter Sunday morning, April 8 at our 8:30 and 11:00 am worship services we will celebrate with music and fanfare and praise and prayer and Word and Sacrament. The Chancel Choir, along with PraisRing, and a brass quartet will lead us as we praise our risen Lord on this great, triumphant day! Bring a flower or two for the Cross of Flowers during the Children’s Time in worship.

Blessings on your worship. Peace.
