Dare To Act on God’s Design For You: An Invitation to St. Mark Youth

Many find it difficult to believe that they are custom-designed for a life of meaning and purpose. But only with this kind of self-acceptance are we free to carry out the purpose God intends for us.

Find Your Fit, a six-hour guided workshop, is designed to help youth see themselves through God’s eyes, maybe for the first time in their lives. Not how they look through the eyes of a media-crazed world that tells them “It’s how you look and shoot hoops that determines what you’re worth.” Not how they look through the eyes of school systems that tell them “It’s how you do on standardized tests and whether you shine in class discussions that determine what you’re worth.” Not how they look through the eyes of peers who tell them “It’s whether you are in the right crowd that determines what you’re worth.”

Find Your Fit provides the youth multiple mirrors to examine themselves. They will identify their own :

  • Talents and realize that they have many, even if they aren’t the ones the world celebrates
  • Spiritual Gifts and recognize that God gifts people to work together for purposes bigger than themselves
  • Personality Types and understand their natural preferences for working and communicating
  • Values and build a structure for making good, godly decisions
  • Passions and begin to pattern a life of fulfillment and significance

Take-aways will include ideas for volunteering, tips for getting along at home or school, a list of possible career areas, a sense of God’s call on their lives, an acceptance of God’s design of others around them, or just simple thankfulness for their own gifts!

So, here’s the challenge:

  1. To our St. Mark adults – Talk to your kids or grand-kids (middle and high school) about attending this life-enhancing session.
  2. To our St. Mark youth – Consider attending this useful and fun event; talk to your parents about how you can make it happen.

Watch the St. Mark website for dates and times, or contact facilitators Bergel Ziegler (360-280-1954) or Susan Gillis (360-413-7009) for additional information.
