Transfiguration of Our Lord

Today is the Transfiguration of our Lord and it is a bridge between the Advent-Christmas-Epiphany cycle that comes to a close today and the Lent-Easter cycle which begins in several days.

According to Matthew’s gospel, Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John up a high mountain on which he underwent some mighty big changes. The three followers were so overcome with fear that they fell to the ground until Jesus told them not to be afraid.

Pastor Eric explained to us what this gospel meant to the people of Jesus’s time and also what it means to us. Pastor Eric issued us two challenges as a congregation.

God’s Love, through Jesus, helps us turn our lives and the lives of others around.
