The Gospel from Luke was a healing story where a centurion asks Jesus to cure his sick slave. He tells Jesus that he does not have to come to his home, but just “speak the word and my servant will be healed.” Jesus was amazed at the centurion’s faith, and told the crowd, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith”.
What is faith? It is knowing that Jesus just needs to “say the word” to perform the miraculous in all our lives. God gave Jesus the power to perform miracles, and the Holy Spirit gives us that same power – to perform miracles!
What are miracles? Miracles are things beyond our understanding, and are extraordinarily good. True forgiveness is a miracle, a change in our perception from anger to peace is a miracle, healing with or without a cure is a miracle – there are miracles all over the place!
‘Jesus, just say the word’ and in the end, “Thy will be done”.
