We are all “Keys” to the Kingdom

Pastor Eric’s sermon was based on the 16th Chapter of Matthew where Jesus asks his disciples who they think he is.  Peter tells Jesus that he is the Messiah, the Son of God.  Jesus, pleased with Peter’s response, tells him that he is the “rock” on which the church will be built, and that he will be given the “Keys to the Kingdom” of Heaven.

Pastor Eric told us that we are all individual and unique ‘keys’ to God’s Kingdom on earth.  Peter represents all of us – each of us a saint AND sinner.   Even though totally human, each of us  have been given unique gifts to carry out the Kingdom of God on earth.  Keys of discernment, leadership, generosity, wisdom – God has given our church family these gifts, these keys – in each of us – to do his will on earth.
