Natalie – Girl Scout Gold Award

On May 8, 2011, a reception was held for Natalie, a recent recipient of the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award.  In February this year, Natalie traveled to Africa, along with her mother and the SAFI group. Her Gold Award project was completed while at schools in Arusha, Tanzania, where she helped the students learn and improve their math and English skills through fun jump rope games. Council President Kate D read a letter from the National Girl Scout Headquarters outlining her project and offering their congratulations on the completion of all of the extensive requirements of the Gold Award.

Natalie has been a Girl Scout since Kindergarten. Since then, she has accomplished more than most youth her age. Natalie is currently a Girl Scout Ambassador, and has been a National Consultant for Girl Scouts USA National Board Leadership Lanes for two years. She has participated in destination trips for horseback riding in Georgia, dog-sledding in Duluth, Minnesota and canyoneering in California. She has earned her Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards, and is a member of the 1000+ Club for high sellers in the Girl Scout Cookie sales.

 

This accomplished young lady is an active member of the High School Youth Group at St. Mark. She attends North Thurston High School where she is a junior. She is a member of the National Honor Society, NTHS Link Team, a Math Tutor, Varsity Soccer Captain and is a member of her school’s track team .
