Senior Recital & Old Fashioned Sunday Supper

If you were not present at the Senior Recital…you really missed something special!!

Since the youth recital was so well-received by our congregation last spring, Minister of Music Kerstin put together a similar program this fall with the older generation. On Sunday, 9/25/11, a “Senior Recital” was held. Nine acts were featured, including piano solos by John M., Dorothie, and Milt; musical selections by Women of the Chancel Choir and PraisRing; story telling by Nancy, magic by Jim S., creative writing recitations by Kay J., and a vocal duet by Carol and Susan.

The recital was followed by an old-fashioned Sunday Supper potluck in the Parish Hall, complete with red jello salad! Many expressions of appreciation were heard – and all agreed this is something to be repeated.

We are blessed at St. Mark to have so many talented people, youth and seniors, and “in-betweeners”, who are willing to share their gifts with others. If you weren’t there, please consider participating next time, as a performer or as an audience member. Either way, you can’t help but enjoy a wonderful afternoon!

As an extra note, look for information on the return of the wildly entertaining St. Mark talent show…”IL FIASCO II”, scheduled for the end of January 2012. Just another great opportunity for fellowship and fun!
