St. Mark celebrated Easter Vigil today on this Palm Sunday. The Gospel spoke to Jesus’s disciples at the empty tomb wondering where Jesus had been taken. Mary sees Jesus but initially does not recognize him – until he calls her name.
Pastor Eric asked the congregation, “Where have YOU seen Jesus?” He then shared two experiences when he had seen Jesus. Both took place as a young PLU student attending St. Leo’s Catholic church in Tacoma, Wa. Through the glory of the Baptism of an 88 year young man and the simple yet profound faith of a developmentally challenged man, Pastor Eric allows us to profoundly see Jesus through his recollections.
The sermon began and ended with this question: “Where have you seen Jesus?” Pastor Eric then reminds us to look around, because He is truly everywhere.
