Today is the ‘Doubting Thomas’ gospel, John 20:19-31, in which Jesus asks Thomas, ‘Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe’.
Pastor Beth was the motivational speaker at a recent Altrusa students’ scholarship awards ceremony and she said hearing the students’ stories have haunted her. But not in a bad way. Each student was highly motivated and filled with hope. Each has persevered. Each want to help others to give back to the community that has helped them when their families had not.
How are we journeying through life?
The disciples were hidden behind a locked door after Jesus’ crucifixion. What were they to do now that Jesus was gone?
How can we be responsible in this time and this place?
Faith in God prevails over fear.
