Today’s Gospel is the 17th chapter of Matthew in which Jesus takes three Disciples, Peter, James and John, up on a mountain and there Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with Jesus.
When the voice of God came from the heavens, the Disciples became afraid but Jesus calmed them with his own words.
Pastor Eric said the key to this text is it’s about response. Our response to different situations.
Sometimes it is scary if we do listen to Jesus but Jesus always tells us to get up and don’t worry.
We get to receive good stuff and to give good stuff because Jesus’s promise is he will be with us always.
Today’s Gospel is about lifting people up and changing their lives.
