Welcome Bob and Judie Lee!

New members, Bob and Judie Lee have recently joined the St. Mark family.

Judie grew up in Garrison, North Dakota.  Her family belonged to and were active in the Congregational Church.  After getting married, she joined the Lutheran Church with her husband Bob.

Bob grew up in Wahpeton, ND and was active in the Lutheran Church.  Church life has always been important to Bob and he has stayed involved in many ways such as serving on councils, committees, and participating in choir.

Judie retired after several fulfilling careers. Her first was as a speech language pathologist within a school district.  With the rapid advances in technology in the late 80’s she pursued the new field of Assistive Technology, studying at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.  She spent the next 25 years providing assistive technology services to people of all ages and types of disabilities. It became her passion to help other people understand that technology makes all of our lives easier, but for people with disabilities it makes things possible.

Bob practiced law for 30 years including 12 years as a County Attorney.  After retiring from law, he started a new career as a Realtor. He served on the board of directors for both the local and state associations.

Their oldest son Jerrod, moved to Olympia 20 years ago and their other son Stefan, joined him a few years later. They visited them often and grew to love the Pacific Northwest.  With both sons and 3 grandchildren living here, it was a no brainer to join them upon retirement. The mild weather was also very appealing!  They came from Fargo, ND in 2016.

The Lees enjoy reading, working in their yard, learning about the many beautiful flowers grown here, day trips to explore the area and time with family and friends.

Bob and Judie felt such a friendly, warm welcome when they first visited St. Mark and that continues. They also enjoy the wonderful and diverse music the musicians of St. Mark provide every Sunday.  They look forward to finding a niche where they can contribute in some way to the life of the church.
